Learning Journey Poster (1 page word doc 2018)
This is my attempt to develop a little resilience in my classroom. We had a light bulb moment a while ago where a small group doing maths 'discovered' and proudly proclaimed 'We do it 'til it's easy!' and this has become a bit of a theme for us - especially in Maths. My Classroom Goals (10 page word doc) 36 of them! These can be made into cards so that children select a personal goal they'd like to work on. Laminated cards can be placed on tables, next to individuals' photos etc.

Brick Wall to Learning poster (word doc) Students who have 'issues' that are stopping them from working can put these up here. Teachers can put up issues as well. These are then addressed through a class meeting and suggestions added
Positive Turnarounds (4 pge word doc) Some little cards to remind kids of the value of positive self talk instead of the other thing!

Friday Afternoon Electives (Word doc)
This was used working with a Grade 2 class that didn't have much experience with personalized learning so it was a great introduction. The aim was to get the kids making their own choices not just of what activity they would do, but how they would work and it was interesting to see how quickly some of them worked out how to co-ordinate their times with their mates (to both good and not-so-good results!) Turning it into a contract with clear expectations as to behaviour really worked well as it was very easy to regulate the afternoon and they all took the signing of the contract very seriously!!

Sample Senior Literacy Contract (word doc)
This was our team's way of personalizing student learning during Literacy whilst still keeping tabs on what everyone was up to.
Each week we would design a contract stipulating the 'must dos' (what's in the table) and the 'can dos' (what's down below). It would vary greatly over a year and term one's woud look completely different to term four's.
During literacy time, students could choose when (and often, where) they did each activity - as long as they met the requirements, worked on their goals (for reading, spelling, writing etc) and attended our teaching groups and conferencing times. It was a lot of work setting up the procedures for all of these and a great deal of trial and error when we first began about 3 years ago but the kids LOVED having a contract each week and the choice and responsibility it allowed. I was especially pleased with how it allowed very capable learners to really go for it and extend themselves. The more responsibility they showed, the more freedom and experimentation we allowed.
