These cards come from www.inyahead.com.au and I love them. We used these by going through them all briefly then laying them out on the floor and children used 3 counters each to 'vote' for the ones they thought best for our class. These were the ones we chose so then we talked about these ones in more detail and made them our group aims for when we played with each other.

When Things Go Wrong
(1 page word doc) Sheet for when kids come in after play stressed about 'issues' that have happened outside. Good to keep as a record, for giving some 'cool down' time, getting all sides of the story and also allows teaching to continue uninterrupted, 'til you're ready to deal with it. |

Handy little 'When to Tell the Teacher' cards. Printed these, laminated, hung on a paper clip and gave them to a young man in my class who had a little difficulty with this. Improvement has been made!

Reasons for Making Good Choices
(1 page word doc) Loosely based on Kohlberg's levels of moral development. |
Basically the same process as the 'When Things Go Wrong' sheet above. Just a simpler version for this year (2016)

Individual Behaviour Tracker
(1 page word doc) Sometimes you get that really difficult student who needs frequent, visual, explicit feedback about their behaviour, so I use this. Using traffic light colours to let them know how their behaviour has been at each session of school. It's also a good visual for parents. When done for long enough, it shows patterns such as they may get lots of green in the mornings but lots of red in the afternoons, or maybe lots of red out in the yard, but less inside. You can get the child to rate themselves as well. |
