Christmas!
I love Christmas! It's such a great time of year. In Australia, it's extra busy because Christmas is also the end of our school year, but it's also the start of Summer and that's great too! Five weeks holidays, Christmas with the family, cricket on the radio, swimming, sun and no alarm clocks!!
We have a 'thing' at our school where you don't get into Christmas decorations or activities before December 1st and that's great because when December starts, the lid comes off and our school really gets into the spirit. We're a Catholic school, so we can Christmas to our heart's content - in fact, it's expected. A visiting teacher remarked to me today that the school looks like the Myer windows!! Christmas plays, carols, cards, Kris Kindle, art, art, art and decorations. We begin each week in December with a whole school Advent liturgy which is really nice.
Here's a gallery of our junior area of the school at Christmas. You should have heard the oohs and aahhs from the kids when they came up the stairs on the first Monday of December. Totally worth the weekend work to decorate!!
